The weekend comprises the normal arrangements, namely dinner bed & breakfast from Friday 10 October with check out being on Sunday morning, 12 October 2025.

PLEASE NOTE NO PACKED LUNCH IS PROVIDED ON SATURDAY.

ALL WALKS ARE SUBJECT TO THE VAGARIES OF THE WEATHER.

WALKING PROGRAMME

Friday 10 October 2025 – Walk starts at 11.30 am

Commencing from the National Trust Car Park in Elterwater (LA22 9HU) at 11.30 am.

Route: Elterwater, Elterwater Hall, Low Hacket, Iving Howe, High Park, Colwith Brow, Skelwith Bridge, Elterwater.

Distance: 6 miles with 1,000 ft. of ascent.

A walk over into Little Langdale through to Skelwith Bridge and then a walk back to Elterwater alongside River Brathay.

Shorter option – Cathedral Caves

Route: Elterwater National Trust Car Park, Skelwith Bridge, Park Farm, Colwith Force, High Park, Stang End, Cathedral Caves, Slater Bridge, Wilson Place, Sawrey’s Wood, Elterwater.

Distance: 7 miles with 1,100 ft. of ascent.

Longer Walk

Route: Hotel, Cumbria Way, Black Crags, Stake Pass, Pike of Stickle, Harrison Stickle, Pavey Ark, Stickle Tarn, Hotel.

Distance: 8 miles with 2,800 ft. of ascent.
