Route: From the lay-by south cross the bridge over the River Tyne, course of North Tyne path, East quiet lane past Cocklaw, South ascend Keepwick Fell, Roman wall path, St Oswald’s church at Heavenfield, Fallowfield via Written Crag, ancient settlement above Wall, Roman Wall path, Chollerford.

Distance: 9.25 Miles with 850 ft. of ascent.

Description: A lovely walk from a fine place in Northumberland taking in the river North Tyne along with some of the antiquities of the Roman Wall, the beautiful church of St, Oswald’s at Heavenfield .Some good paths & tracks to walk along, magnificent views from Keepwick Fell and generally a good day’s walking.
