Midweek Car Walk – Unnamed Road, North of Roman Wall, NE47 7AN

Meet for a 10.00am start to the walk. The parking place is not named on the map.

DIRECTIONS TO GET TO PARKING AREA

1. From The Sill at Once Brewed on the Military Road, head north on the unnamed road that passes the Steel Rigg car park.
2. Stay on this road until arrival at a road junction, turn right at this point. There is a signpost to Gibbs Hill.
3. Pass over a cattle grid and parking is immediately there on the left.

A spectacular walk at the north side of the Roman Wall, taking in three Loughs & nature reserves. It gives a unique perspective from the other side of the wall. Mainly good paths with a modicum of road walking.
