From there\, we follow the road down to the impressive Yore Bridge\, where there are views of part of Aysgarth Falls. We then enter Freeholders Wood\, continuing into St Joseph’s Wood\, with the river running below us on the right. \nLeaving the woodland behind\, the route crosses open grassland and climbs steadily towards the striking ruins of Bolton Castle. From here\, we continue west\, descending towards the village of Carperby. After passing through the village\, the path climbs up to Ponderledge Scar\, where we follow the north side of the valley towards Woodhall.
